베델 & FCC 한글 교실 Korean Language Class
FCC에 케이팝과 한국 문화에 관심 있는 청소년들이 몇 명 있어서 한국어 교실이 당초 예상보다 더 많은 학생들과 함께 시작하게 되었습니다. 이미 한글을 읽을 수 있는 청소년도 있었고, 60이 훌쩍 넘었는데 새로운 것에 도전하고 싶다는 분도, 그냥 한국 문화가 매력 있다는 젊은 부부도 계셨습니다. 교회에서 서로 만나는 사이인데 언어를 배워서 함께 웃을 수 있는 일이 늘어나면 좋겠다는 분도 계셨습니다.
눈을 반짝이며 배우고 가르치는 사람들을 보고 있으니 긍정의 에너지를 듬뿍 받는 느낌이었습니다. 모두에게 즐거운 배움의 경험이 되면 좋겠습니다. 그리고 어찌 보면 작은 일이지만 이런 기회를 통화 언어, 문화, 인종 간에 오해와 갈등이 줄고 화해와 연합이 이루어지길 기도합니다.

Korean Language Class of Bethel & First Christian Church Noblesville started successfully two weeks ago.
For this first semester, we have 15 people initially, yet with anticipation of expanding to the wider community. Everyone from youth group to over 60s members is excited and having fun in the class. So we have dreams of a continuous educational process in the community.
This project would be an excellent chance to build and develop a mutual cultural understanding between the two congregations and two different languages and culture groups. And we hope our congregations will work toward changing basic attitudes related to unconcern, misunderstanding, or prejudice so that we will experience a vital role in making a pro-reconciling community.
We’ve awarded grants from National Benevolent Association Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and Indiana Disciples for this project. We are grateful for this opportunity.
